The Fresno County Board of Supervisors kicked off their first meeting of 2020 this morning by naming District 4 Supervisor, Buddy Mendes, Board Chairman for the 2020 calendar year. Supervisor Mendes takes over the role of Chairman from District 5 Supervisor, Nathan Magsig, who served for all of 2019. This will be the second time Supervisor Mendes has served as Board Chairman, having first held the role in 2016.
Additionally, District 2 Supervisor, Steve Brandau, assumes the role of Vice Chairman, which was previously held by Supervisor Mendes.
Our Fresno County family has been hard at work this season supporting numerous efforts to make the holidays merry and bright for those in need in our communities. In addition to food drives, toy drives and other charitable giving efforts, County staff recently donated more than 260 coats, sweaters, and winter clothing for those in need. This annual effort, led by Fresno County District 3 Supervisor, Sal Quintero, will help to deliver much needed comfort and warmth through the season.
