This week Fresno County celebrated the opening of the Fresno County Department of Social Services’ new administration building at the former Pelco campus in Clovis. This newly remodeled building is the first of several to open as the Department works to transition its workforce and public services from nearly 30 separate facilities throughout the County to a single campus.
The Administration building and others to follow incorporate functional open space with innovative technology, modern office designs, meeting spaces and lots of natural light, which is in stark contrast to many of the outdated facilities from which DSS staff have been operating for decades.
In addition to providing upgraded, modernized facilities for nearly 2,200 DSS employees, the transition will vastly improve convenience and efficiency for those in our community who rely on the many programs, resources and services provided by the department. It’s an exciting beginning for DSS, the County of Fresno, and all those whom we serve.
