The country and the world depends on Fresno County agriculture, so protecting the health and safety of Fresno County’s agricultural workforce is critical to ensuring that our essential Ag business can continue under any circumstance. As we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, the Fresno County Department of Agriculture has made great efforts to keep our local farming communities safe and businesses operating.
In recent weeks those efforts have included the distribution of more than 800,000 disposable face coverings for agricultural workers as well as two events this week, during which the Fresno County Dept of Agriculture distributed 50,000 N95 respirators to our Ag businesses and employees. These events were a partnership with the California Department of Food and Agriculture, the California Department of Pesticide Regulation, the California Office of Emergency Services and the Governor’s Office working to protect our Ag communities from the threat of COVID-19.
The success of Fresno County agriculture begins with safety, and we are proud to provide continued support to our essential workers on the front lines during these challenging times.
